1.  When you are looking to remodel your home, research the construction companies you are looking to hire. You want to make sure you are getting the best price for your project, and that the company you choose is reputable.
2.  A great way to save some money is to try to do small renovations by yourself. If you want to try to put new tile in your bathroom, or paint a room, make sure you have all the appropriate tools, and know how to do the project correctly.
3. Banks are not interested in selling homes. That’s why they often sell their REO’s (bank owned properties) at a significantly lower price than the market value, so that they can get rid of them quickly.
4. Contact the local school board, and ask for the school’s “report card” to see what the school’s average grades, SAT scores, graduation percentages, and the violence reports are. This can provide much insight on the kind of education your children will receive.
5. When searching for a home, try using a buyer’s agent who is specialized in the specific areas and neighborhoods that you are looking for.
6. When selling your house, try staging some furniture in the living room & family room to make your home feel cozier, so that buyers can envision themselves living in your home.
